Job Title: Supplier Quality EngineerParticipates in supplier evaluations and audits.

Responsible for the supplier corrective action process including containment, root cause analysis, and corrective action for complaints and rejected parts.

Ensures suppliers use quality tools effectively.

Works with supplier to ensure all product requirements are met.

Oversees the supplier quality resources for new product introduction and current products to reduce supplier related issues, improve process capabilities, and ensure timely project launches.

Responsible for determining if all requirements are met by the supplier for new or changed products.

Measures supplier quality performance according to established procedures; drives appropriate improvements to meet established targets.

Facilitates continuous improvement activities to reduce defects.

Position Requirements:

Bachelors’ degree preferred.

Experience with Iron and Aluminum casting is highly desired.

Ideal candidates will have supplier quality experience in foundries.

Experience with various Iron, Aluminum casting and machining process technologies and related iron,

Aluminum based components experience.

Knowledge of how to interpret product definition and engineering standards and requirements related to machined iron, aluminum components, and develop, recommend, specify casting and machining processes to meet these requirements; and work within the iron & aluminum casting / machining industry globally, to deliver to these expectations.

Various cleaning, coating, and post casting / machining component processing through secondary manufacturing operations.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.

Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD). Interpret drawings.

Knowledge of Supplier Quality Improvement functions including AIAG/IATF, VPI SQI / APQP, problem solving, data analysis and product reliability / warranty.

Related manufacturing and measurement processes for leak testing, impregnation, cleanliness, NDT, GD&T (etc.)

Supplier Quality Management: Leads all aspects of supplier quality management; helps develop strategy and collaborative supplier partnerships; identifies supplier innovation capabilities; contributes to supplier audit and certification process; tracks supplier performance metrics and acts to quickly resolve issues to improve supplier quality performance.

Project Issue and Risk Management: Manages the process to identify, assess and prioritize issues and risks using recommended tools and processes to minimize, monitor, and control the probability and/or impact of negative events or to maximize the realization of positive events.
