Position: Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMSW, LPCC, LPC, LISW, LMFT, LMAT)

About the position:

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Responsible for the overall clinical needs of clients. Provides individual, group, and family therapy to improve mental health through discussion of emotions of experiences. Examine different issues including: substance/physical/sexual abuse, bullying, anger management, depression/stress, and suicide. Develop therapeutic treatment plan and refer clients to other resources and services.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

-Provide therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and adults (individual, group and family therapy).

-Maintain timely and accurate records of counseling/ therapy sessions, Service Assessments, Treatment Plans (Review every 90 days and make appropriate changes), and Discharge Summaries.

-Conduct any assessments as needed/required.

-Communicate with supervisors/staff regularly regarding the needs of the clients and their integration into other services.

-Attend training's/meetings.

-Assist/train staff in crisis management.

-Provide on-call consultation to assist in resolution of client issues.

-Consult with collateral services (Social Services, parents, school personnel, probation office and others) who may have knowledge of client history/needs.

-Make collateral contacts for clients and work with staff/parents/guardians/collateral contacts on aftercare plan.

-Any other duties as assigned.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

-Working knowledge of child development, effects of trauma on children, and dynamics of child abuse, domestic violence and family dynamics.

-Effective communication and problem solving skills.

-Familiarity with community services and social services delivery system.

-Working knowledge of the DSM-V.

-Crisis management skills required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Licensure in NM (LMSW, LPCC, LPC, LISW, LMFT, LMAT or psychologist/psychiatrist).
