Applicants must be in long term recovery from a substance use disorder at least 3 years.

We have immediate openings on our Peer Recovery Team for passionate individuals who have successfully been in long term recovery from a substance use disorder for at least three (3) or more years.

This position would allow the candidate to work in the emergency department and offer peer services to those in need. This position connects individuals to a larger community of care, and provides peer support services.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Provide direct services to individuals as assigned.

Ensures compliance is adhered to accordance to the organization and funding source standards.

Demonstrates in practice there are multiple pathways to recovery.

Facilitate timely referral and placements from hospital to treatment / recovery support providers.

Educate, assist, and support family members, as requested.

Documents information for established metrics and outcomes as required.

Participates in ongoing recovery coach training, education and performance support.

Knowledgeable of national and local substance use and prevention statistics and demonstrates the ability to apply current trends to service delivery.

Education :

High school diploma or equivalent

One year experience as a peer coach

This position requires an individual to become certified as a Peer Recovery Mentor (CPRM) after hire. The certification process involves completing a development plan with the Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP), participating in continuing education, and completing an examination.
