JOB SUMMARY

As member of the mobile COVID-19 testing team, the Testing Professional will work with a team of volunteer healthcare professionals at mobile clinics across hot spot counties within Washington and Oregon states to reach high-risk and underserved populations with prompt COVID-19 testing and education. The RN will perform anterior nasal testing for COVID-19 and will provide tailored education to clients on safety and hygiene practices to reduce COVID transmission, and address needs for follow-up and referral to community services. The nurse will adhere to current guidelines and best practices for COVID-19 testing, PPE usage and hygiene protocols.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Perform anterior nasal testing following current CDC guidelines.

Ensure each client receives thorough and culturally appropriate education before and after specimen collection.

Ensure strict adherence to Infection, Prevention and Control measures, policies and procedures, ensures no cross contamination occurs.

Follow strict and meticulous donning and doffing procedures.

Ensure proper disposal of waste and biohazard following organization’s policies.

Assist with clinic set-up, tear-down and sanitation under the supervision of the Clinic Manager.

Provide excellent customer service for all clients receiving testing.

Able to jump into any clinic role to support staff and volunteers as needed.

Support safeguarding of program participants and employees through promoting an environment of awareness and upholding the code of conduct provisions of Medical Teams Protection from Sexual Exploitation & Abuse, Child & Vulnerable Adult protection, and harassment-free workplace policies.

OTHER DUTIES:

Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION, LICENSES, & CERTIFICATIONS

Per Washington State Department of Health, the following licensed health care providers are authorized under Washington law to administer COVID-19 tests by collecting nasal swab specimens:

ARNP, Dentist, EMS Provider, Certified Home Care Aide, Registered or Certified Medical Assistant, Naturopathic Physician, Licensed Practical Nurse , Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Pharmacist, Medical Doctor, Physicians Assistant, Respiratory Therapist.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a fast-paced healthcare setting preferred but not required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Familiar with the principles of trauma-informed practice and culturally-responsive care.

Understanding of infection, prevention and control measures, policies and processes.

Proficiency in a language in addition to English, or bilingual (preferred).

Detail-oriented and organized.

Ability to rapidly learn new computer programs and technologies.

Adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment, under changing conditions.

Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others in a team environment.

Ability to prioritize tasks.

Ability to be flexible and adaptable; ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.

Ability to embrace and promote Medical Teams International Calling Statement and Core Values.

Ability to represent the organization in a professional manner to donors, volunteers, and the public.

Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate clearly and effectively at all levels, taking into account cultural and language difficulties.

Ability to work out of schedule when applicable.

Ability to travel to various rural locations within Washington State.
