This position will be responsible for managing and improving the demand management process globally across the Life Sciences, Protection and Industrial Solutions (LPI) segment of the Advanced Materials business unit. Lead overall Demand Planning process in the creation of a consensus based demand and revenue plan
Partner with business to drive alignment between the Demand forecast, supply plan, financial outlooks, and supply strategies that will enable success for the business.
Utilize statistical methods in the planning process where appropriate. Optimize & recalibrate forecast models periodically by analyzing predictions vs. actual patterns and make appropriate model revisions at the SKU level
Accountable for MAPE/BIAS metrics. Utilize 6 Sigma techniques to achieve ‘world class’ forecast accuracy performance.
Document demand drivers and assignable causes to demand changes each period
Prepare and provide demand related data as required to support the SIOP process.
Facilitate & Lead Demand Planning SIOP meeting and support other SIOP meetings.
Ensure all participants contribute to the SIOP process within the agreed upon timing of the calendar of events
Drive SIOP process maturity and effectiveness to meets HON standard
Capture risks and opportunities to forecast, publish notes and recommendations
Work closely with the business, sales, supply chain, operations and distribution personnel to improve overall supply chain from improved demand signals
Monitor mid-cycle demand variances and trends at Product Group, Customer and SKU levels and provide recommendations
Partner with business to provide statement of demand to support STRAP, AOP, Financial, SIOP and Master Scheduling business processes
Support strategic growth initiatives
Document SIOP policy and update as appropriate with Global Supply Chain Leader and VP/GM approval
Drive improvements to Demand Planning Process, tools and meetings
Basic Candidate Qualifications:
Minimum of 6 years of experience working in manufacturing, supply chain, commercial, or finance is required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or business related degree is required.
Additional Candidate Qualifications:
Multi-year experience in Demand planning, as this role oversees a high profile product portfolio.
Experience in International business
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated deep analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives
Demonstrated ability to identify business process issues and opportunities and to implement effective improvements
Experience using Advanced Planning and Scheduling tools (SAP APO, Kinaxis, Tableau, etc.).
Experience and comfort using all MS Office applications.
Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
Demonstrated ability to use influence to obtain business results.
Experience working in a matrix organization preferred.
Experience working in chemical, commodity, or continuous manufacturing industry preferred.
APICS certification (a plus)
