Accounts Payable Clerk

Description Robert Half has a great opportunity available for an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk with an organization that offers an appealing company culture among highly skilled professionals. The candidate's responsibilities in this role include attending to the general needs of the AP/Finance Department, while working closely and reporting to the Accounting Manager. The essential functions of this role will include matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are primary areas of focus. This Accounts Payable Clerk role will be located in the Covington, Louisiana area and will be a short-term contract to full time position.What you get to do every single day

Manage validating, recording, and mailing checks and expedite special handling

Carry out additional tasks as assigned

Ensure compliance with company policies while carrying out daily processes and controls accurately and on time

Facilitate internal and external audits as needed

Manage customer service tasks for internal business partners

Provide administrative assistance to the AP/Finance Department

Handle daily department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it

Operate full-cycle A/P

Sort, log, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents

Requirements

AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial backgrounds

Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

Microsoft Excel experience preferred

Strong familiarity with Code Invoices

Prior experience in an A/P role preferred
