ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The COMPASS Program Group Leader will assist participants with homework assignments during school year programming. Candidates will:

Ensure all work is neat and accurate and will keep students focused;

Implement STEM and SPARKS after school activities;

Create new and innovative ways of keeping participants engaged in program activities;

Supervise program participants during snack/lunch time and throughout program period;

Assist the Program Director in the completion of program objectives;

Inform the Program Director of any issues that may arise and provide a written statement when necessary;

Participate in activities and maintain an orderly classroom;

Ensure all participants sign in on a daily basis and that parents sign them out;

Use positive reinforcement to guide students and work well with colleagues to engage students at all times;

Initiate activities and help group engage;

Assist with all aspects of field trips as well as supervise youth and know their whereabouts at all times;

Assist in maintaining order during commencements and dismissal of program, snack time and transition time;

Maintain a positive attitude within the work environment.

COMPETENCIES

Two years prior experience working with youth

Must have a genuine love for working with children and must want to serve as a mentor

Ability to obtain Staff Exclusion List (SEL), Department of Health (DOH) fingerprint and State Central Registry (SCR) clearance

Must be at least 18 years of age

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

High School/HSE diploma.

Working towards a college degree preferred.
