Accounts Receivable Specialist
Description Accounts Receivable Specialist - Hybrid - Our Medford, MA based client is a nationwide leader in the construction industry and looking to add to their growing team. In this role you will learn and get the opportunity to own the AR process, handle discrepancies, manage overdue balances, and deliver exceptional customer service.Job Duties:
Ownership of AR ageing across multiple business branches.
Contacting customers via phone and email to determine payment status of overdue balances, ensuring timely payment of receivables and resolution of discrepancies preventing payment.
Diligent maintenance of follow-up calendar in Outlook and collection notes in our AR system.
Development of strong working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to deliver optimum customer experience.
Identification of at-risk customers for internal escalation in a timely manner.
Recognition of opportunities for improvement in the billing-to-cash cycle.
Filing liens when necessary.
Validation of lien waiver requests.
Responding to incoming calls and emails in a timely manner.
Requirements
Keys:
2 – 5 years of prior commercial collection/accounts receivable experience
Knowledge of billing and collection procedures within the construction industry a big plus
Intermediate Excel skills e.g., basic formulas, VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.
Must have solid writing and verbal communications skills
Experience with cash application and month end reconciliations a plus
AA, BA or BS preferred
