Position Number: 003005Department: Office of OneIT (Adm)Employment Type: Permanent - Full-timeMonths Per Year: 12Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Information Technology Director ( ITD ) provides leadership in the application and use of computing technology in support of the mission of both the UrbanCore unit ( URBN ) and the College of Health Human Services ( CHHS ).The Information Technology Director ( ITD ) guides the development, operation, and vision for the computing resources that support the college’s research, teaching, and service objectives. The ITD provides assistance and support to department and college computing initiatives and serves as a source of technical expertise for matters related to computing in the URBN and CHHS .Minimum Experience / Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Communications, Computer science, or a related field

3-5 years experience working within Information Technology, preferably in an academic setting

Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills

Proven record of managing budgets, directing and motivating staff to deliver client-oriented services

Preferred Education Skills and Experience:

Master’s degree in Information Technology, Communications, Computer science, or a related field

5-7 years experience working within Information Technology, preferably in an academic setting

Familiarity with a range of software such as basic office productivity software, presentation and page layout software, graphic and multimedia development software, database and research/statistics software, and network operating systems for Windows and Macintosh desktop computers and a wide array of evolving computer and related technology

Direct experience in research activities and with data security requirements associated with educational data

Experience in supervising professionals, graduate students and undergraduate student help

Excellent interpersonal skills, the demonstrated ability to communicate clearly in instructional and collaborative situations, and, the ability to update skills and knowledge as needed

Experience with learning management systems and P-12 educational technologies
