The Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising one or more lines of business within a division to achieve communicated safety and operational goals and creating an environment to encourage team engagement and professional growth and development.
Partners with the Division Manager to implement tactical initiatives that drive functional excellence and goal achievement.
Performs onboarding procedures with newly hired employees to ensure a strong understanding of Casella’s core values.
Reviews and evaluates work to ensure quality, timeliness, and ensures quality control in adherence to policies and procedures.
Investigates all accidents, customer and driver disputes and complaints to ensure all applicable documentation is completed according to policies and procedures.
Monitors driver performance and behaviors, provides coaching and recommends training or retraining as needed to ensure proficiency and compliance with all company safety procedures.
Provides leadership to the operations team and develops team members to assist them in reaching individual goals and create a pipeline for advancement within Casella.
Manages and provides leadership to team members by effectively communicating, establishing clear goals and objectives, coaching team members on achieving goals, and ensuring access to training and development opportunities that assist employees in attaining the necessary skills to achieve team and corporate results.
Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values.
Ensures compliance with all company, state, and federal policies, regulations, and laws regarding employment and employee safety.
The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, 1-3 years’ experience in industrial operations or manufacturing, a minimum of 3 years of lead or supervisory experience, along with a minimum of 6 months -1 year of experience with equipment operation and be legally eligible to work in the US. An ability to lift at least 30 lbs. frequently and 65lbs several times a day, to stand for up to 8 hours, and a demonstrated ability to work as part of a ream in a collaborative environment is necessary. A valid class A or B CDL driver’s license and experience or interest in an environmental and/or sustainability field are preferred.Outstanding relationship management skills, excellent listening, communication, and problem-solving skills are required as well as understanding OSHA standards and compliance. An ability to teach and train others, and a demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications are expected.Positive, team-oriented leader who possesses the critical combination of passion for the organization and motivational skills with the ability to see the larger picture. Strong leadership, training and organizational skills combined with the ability to effectively communication, and support team members is essential.
