Sr. Manufacturing EngineerJob Number: 305998Category: Engineering & Design SBUDescription: A Sr Mechanical Engineer position in Kent, WA is currently available through Belcan. In this role you will be focused on the precision assembly and testing of Valves. To be considered you must have a BS/MS in Engineering; have +3 years of similar experience, and be a US Citizen or Perm Resident.Responsibilities:

Coordinate the manufacturing of launch vehicle assemblies, forming and welding of tubes, heat treating, and/or electrical systems.

Develop overall manufacturing process sequencing and make real-time adjustments as needed to deal with production issues.

Support hardware assembly on the shop floor and troubleshoot issues that arise throughout the day.

Translate engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into consistent manufacturing processes and work instructions that direct touch labor on the shop floor.

Provide design for manufacturability review and final approval for manufacturing of assemblies and machined parts.

Manage and improve quality, reduce cost, and optimize build schedule.

Perform root cause analysis when non-conformance, identified escapes and deploy corrective actions.

Manage hardware configuration and maintain pedigree throughout the entire build and test process.

Conduct DFMA and PFMEA studies to strengthen the feedback loop between design and build.

Use data to drive decisions from DFM and PFMEA studies as well as historical actuals.

Design, procure, install, and qualify custom manufacturing equipment and fixtures.

Required

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering (other relevant fields may apply) from an accredited university.

5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience working in a production environment.

Mastery of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing including working knowledge of GD&T.

Proven experience and successful track record developing/starting new manufacturing processes.

Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills such as MRP, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.

Ability to develop processes compliant to industry quality systems such as AS9100.

Must be a U.S. citizen or national or U.S. permanent resident

Flexibility with regard to occasional support of second shift.

Desired (Would like to see 1 or more of the desired qualities below)

Knowledge and experience using CREO and Windchill

Experience with developing and defining heat treat processes for high temperature alloys (Inconel)

Experience and knowledge with tube bending manufacturing processes

Experience and knowledge with high precision valve manufacturing processes

Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
