Safety Program CoordinatorMolina HealthcareLong Beach, CaliforniaJob DescriptionJob SummaryThe Occupational Health and Safety Specialist leads the safety training program review. Evaluates ergonomic trends, working with the Safety Specialists. Develops department statistics and reporting of ergonomic and safety incidents. Provides support services for various safety programs that are designed to prevent and reduce workplace injuries and illness. Program details include ergonomics, monthly safety meetings, hazard reporting and correction.Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesProcess ergonomic assessment requests through Molina's iServe ticketing system, conducts phone assessments, makes recommendations for workstation adjustments or equipment needed.Audit ergonomic assessments for thoroughness and completion of installation. Contacts employees periodically to assess impact of new equipment.Review orders placed for equipment evaluating trends and looking for new resources as necessary.Collect data, maintain records and tracks incidents evaluating trends. Generate and review daily, weekly, monthly, and annual safety and environmental reports, as required. Provides feedback and recommendations to Safety Manager.Performs audits of safety programs within the injury illness prevention program (IIPP) to ensure all Health plans, or department specific safety programs comply with federal OSHA, and state plan standards.Partner with Workers Compensation and Accommodation team members to counsel and mentor employees and management in solving problems that impact the safety of the workplace.Participate in team established to identify root cause analysis of workplace safety or hazards and health concerns. Support accident investigations and corrective actions assisting in communication to team members and incorporating these into training and written programs as directed.Manage yearly employment law poster projects, ensuring state and federal legally-required posters (such as workers compensation, equal employment opportunity, Family & Medical Leave Act, employee polygraph protection, occupational health and safety, Fair Labor Standards Act, minimum wage, and more) are distributed to all Company worksites on a timely basis. Support annual posting of OSHA 300A forms at each location.Assists with special projects, as assigned. Any and all other duties and assignments deemed appropriate by leadership.QualificationsJob QualificationsRequired EducationHigh School DiplomaRequired Experience 1 year HR / Business Strong written and verbal skill Attention to detail and process Good organization and follow through Ability to process multiple requests, strong follow-through skills and ability to resolve issues in a fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate and provide service across all levels of the organization. Maintain highly confidential employee Personal Information and files.
