As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to ensure the efficient operation of the medical office. You will support the Family Nurse Practitioner, LCSW, and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

· Interview patients and document basic medical history

· Organize and schedule appointments when needed to assist Practice Manager

· Complete in house lab draws or arrange lab services if unable to draw labs in the clinic

· Patient follow up for missed appointments and to make sure they are compliant with visits

· Assist during medical examinations

· Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments

· Clinical tasks as needed within the scope of practice including finger sticks, obtaining vital signs, rooming patients, patient injections, to name a few

Medical Assistant will also assist with care coordination through the Opioid Health Home for all OHH members which include but is not limited to:

· Assisting OHH members in accessing health care and follow-up care;

· Assisting OHH members in locating community social, legal, medical, behavioral healthcare and transportation services; and

· Maintaining frequent communication with other team providers to monitor health status, medical conditions, medications, and medication side effects.

· Participation in interdisciplinary team meetings

Skills

· Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary

· Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures

· Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

· Social perceptiveness and service-oriented

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Strong organizational and planning skills

· Proficiency in MS Office and Athena EMR

· Certificate in medical assistance

Job Type: Part-time with Option of Full Time with Right Person
