Certified Court Interpreter - Superior Court

$25.24 per hour

40 hours per week

Yakima County Superior Court has one opening for a Certified Court Interpreter. The Certified Court Interpreter performs simultaneous and consecutive interpretation between English and Spanish during court proceedings; assists attorneys in taking statements from non-English speaking witnesses and performs other office support work including coordinating and scheduling of other interpreters, updating frequently used court documents such as plea forms, scheduling orders, misdemeanor forms, and other court forms as needed. Attends meetings and continuing education classes as required to maintain certification status.

Education and Experience: Must be a Certified Court Interpreter-as certified by the Administrative Office of the Courts in Washington State in the Spanish language. A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a court certified interpreter; OR any combination of experience or training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job (such as office practices and/or legal coursework).
