Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in a specialized area; or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.Applicants must meet DoD 8570.1 certification requirements for IAT-II or higher.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:This position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance. Must be willing and able to obtain a polygraph within a reasonable amount of time after hire, with acceptable timing determined by manager. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. LINUX Systems Administrator. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.The LINUX Systems Administrator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and administration of the IT server infrastructure. The Systems Administrator performs a wide variety of duties which include, but are not limited to, analysis, installation, modification, documentation, maintenance, problem diagnosis, and repair of all server technology hardware and software. The incumbent also provides hardware and software technical guidance to core IT administrators and remote sites. This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO at Schriever AFB.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Red Hat LINUX command level administration
  • Trusted Network Environment (TNE) PitBull command level administration
  • Command level troubleshooting of OS and associated hardware/software, including SQL
  • Create and resolve help desk action items
  • Manage cross domain enterprise level solutions
  • Provide on-site technical solutions
  • Install, move, and/or break-down systems
  • Create detailed technical reports and metrics
  • Perform system builds
  • Maintain the security and stability of cross domain solutions
  • Interact with customers
  • Create, modify, and remove user accounts
  • Perform LINUX audit and reporting tasks
  • LINUX/UNIX Scripting skills highly desirable
  • Must be able to perform scheduled and unscheduled fly away support
  • Must be able to support occasional priority actions outside of normal duty scheduling (Support Upgrades/Patch Management)
  • Assist in the preparation of Training Manuals

Preferred Certifications:
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Certification
  • Security + CE
Target salary range: USD $145,500.00/Yr. - USD $155,000.00/Yr. Note: The compensation information listed is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. It is estimated based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid. It assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado.
