About the Role

Responsible for overseeing the residential real estate pre-funding QC process and reviewing 10% of FHA loans each month. Facilitate selection of loans for pre-funding review with the bank divisions and ensure monthly minimum selection requirements are met. Compile and complete monthly Pre-Funding Final reports and distribute to responsible parties. Assist pre-funding reviewers at the Division level with questions and pre-funding QC review training.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Calculate monthly selection requirements to ensure monthly minimum is met for mortgage pre-funding Quality Control. Complete pre-funding QC reviews on 10% of the FHA loans originated each month. Assist pre-funding reviewers at the Division level with questions and pre-funding QC review training.

  • Issue timely and accurate reports to the GBCI Compliance Committee and Management and Division Management.

  • Clearly explain and communicate results, findings and recommendations to Division Management. Ensure Division pre-funding results are finalized prior to issuing reports.

  • All reviews and supporting documentation will be maintained in the designated folder on the Mortgage Quality control drive within the SecondLook Software at all times.

  • Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with all Division and Corporate management and personnel by checking in regularly to make yourself available, attend relevant meetings and determine needed feedback and training. Assist in the flow of information to the Division to ensure communications (i.e. new procedures, policies, forms, etc.) from GBCI are received and understood. Escalate findings or issues when needed to GBCI Management when updated or new processes are needed to prevent future findings.

  • When requested, serve on committees or special task groups for new regulatory, program or procedural changes.
  • Assist with post closing reviews and QC manual updates as needed.

  • Coordinates with divisions on monthly prefunding loan selection to provide appropriate files to third party QC vendor. Coordinates with vendor on obtaining findings and sending those results to the Bank Divisions.

  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Must complete the assigned online training courses and achieve a passing score by due date.

About You

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of five years of mortgage lending, quality control and/or lending compliance experience is required.

  • Experience with loan underwriting or working with underwriting standards is preferred.

  • Experience with one of the following systems is preferred: Encompass, SecondLook QC Software, and/or and/ or Microsoft Suite including Microsoft Excel

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Must attain a professional designation such as Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) or Certified Community Bank Compliance Officer (CCBCO) within 12 months of hire.

  • Sufficient banking and regulatory knowledge, organizational and technical skill for performing all required monitoring and reviews.

  • Monitor, analyze and apply compliance rules, regulations and procedures.

  • Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, with others in the Company to perform effective audits and to report the results.

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal relationships and teamwork.

  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, using considerable tact, diplomacy, and judgment.

  • Courtesy and tact are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with customers and others inside and outside the organization, generally regarding fairly routine matters for the purposes of giving and obtaining information or instructions, updating or referring. Communications require shorter and not in-depth discussions most of the time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Must be capable of up to occasional travel (less than 10 days per year) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities.

Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
