Bowers + Kubota Consulting is seeking a seasoned Project Architect who can work independently on a variety of complex project types. Founded as a Construction Management and A&E Firm Bowers + Kubota has evolved to undertake sophisticated design projects requiring exceptional effort and experience. This Project Architect position requires self- management and a minimum of supervision. They will be collaborating with a Project Manager and will need to have the skills and motivation to carry multiple projects from conceptual design through working drawings and construction administration. Essential to success in this position will be the ability to understand and coordinate the work of sub-consultants and supporting staff. Candidates must be well organized, have a strong attention to detail and a passion for design. The candidate should have experience in all phases of the design process.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture is required

5-10 years well-rounded architectural working experience with all phases of design and construction

Faultless command of AutoCad, Revit and Rendering Programs

Model Making and Sketching Ability

Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills

Strong technical detailing abilities

Experience on complex renovation and new construction projects of refined design

Ability to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities

Ability to multi-task projects and establish priorities

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites

Positive service-oriented attitude

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Prepare, develop, and edit drawings, models, images and other documents relating to the design and communicate with client

Attend meetings with internal and external design staff, managers, and others to present drawings, schedules, and cost estimates for the projects

Pursue on-time completion of deliverables within budget through all stages of the project

Conduct field surveys and organize documentation

Assist with preparations of bid documents and requests for proposals

Create detailed cost estimates

Attend on-site meetings and run project meetings

Revise designs as needed to obtain in-house and external approvals

Maintain project records and files

Manage project staff which entails schedule and manpower updates

Facilitate the design process from conception to construction administration to ensure consistency of design idea

Ensure compliance of construction detail documentation to quality control and best practices

Participate in business development meetings to target specific market, client or project opportunities

Interact with building officials during project permitting and construction phases

Maintain project manual and conduct and document on-site observations and reviews

Perform other duties as assigned
