Job Summary The Aerospace Corporation National System National Systems Group serves as the technical advisor to the Intelligence Community and associated mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national strategic and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, ground and communications, imagery programs, systems engineering and launch.NSG is seeking an experienced Project Engineer/Sr. Project Engineer to support the Ground Enterprise Team. The Ground Enterprise team assists the customer in the acquisition and fielding of ground mission management, command and control, and mission data processing systems. This position is in Chantilly, VA, with occasional domestic travel to meetings and workshops.This position requires 100% on site work in Chantilly, VAWhat you'll Be Doing

  • Leading and assisting development and acquisition of SIGINT ground systems providing objective input to strategies, plans and issues.
  • Assisting and advising the Customer utilizing systems engineering, integration and testing expertise, analytic capability development, and budget planning and programming.
  • Participation in lifecycle readiness activities program acquisition and contract planning and execution discussions and activities.
  • Review program strategies to identify development gaps and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Coordination with the customer established Architecture Management Board to ensure existing and future acquisition plans and actions align with customer Program Office architectural goals.
  • Participation in architectural trades and assessments for validation of technical solutions and operational concepts and to ensure functional and performance requirements and objectives can be satisfied.
What you need to be successful - Project Engineer Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, mathematics, physics or a related technical discipline from a recognized institution, or equivalent experience.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of experience
  • Experience in one of more of the following domains:
    • SIGINT intelligence collection systems, operations, and intelligence analysis
    • AGILE, DevSecOps and /or Cloud architectures
    • Program management and DOD budget programming
    • Requirements, and acquisition processes
    • Satellite ground systems (design, acquisition, development, architecture, and operations).
    • Cloud computing, microservice architectures and service-oriented architectures
  • This position requires a current and active TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
In addition to the above the Senior Project Engineer requires:
  • Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of experience
  • Familiarity with the elements and processes associated with a government system acquisition lifecycle.
  • Experience in systems engineering and integration testing and network architectures.
  • Experience in working with mixed government, SETA, and FFRDC teams in technical, architecture, strategy, and systems engineering projects and tasks.
  • Familiarity with satellite ground systems (design, acquisition, development, architecture, and operations).
This position is available as a Project Engineer or a Senior Project EngineerHow you can Stand Out It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
  • Advanced academic degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or a related engineering or scientific field.
  • Strong working knowledge of SIGINT ground system architectures, including mission management and processing systems.
  • Experience in Software Program Management
  • Experience implementing microservice architectures.
  • Prior experience within the Intelligence Community.
