Job SummaryThe Vehicle Design and Innovation Department (VDID) provides space vehicle design and analysis, rapid systems engineering processes, and vehicle systems engineering support throughout the program acquisition lifecycle using systems engineers, modeling capabilities, rapid prototyping tools, and dedicated engineering development facilities. As a member of VDID you will be developing the next generation of innovative spacecraft designs to solve the most challenging problems of our US Space Force, Intelligence Community, NASA, NOAA, and commercial/international customers.What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading and participating in conceptual and preliminary design studies of space systems, to include multi-disciplinary engineering teams
  • Evaluating spacecraft design and architecture concepts and participate in design reviews
  • Providing vehicle systems engineering support in the execution of customer programs
  • Working with government and program office personnel and members of ETG
  • Developing tools and models that support spacecraft design and analysis activities
What You Need to be Successful Minimum Requirements:
  • Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) from an accredited program in engineering
  • At least 4 years relevant experience ( 6 years for SrMTS
  • Demonstrated knowledge of spacecraft subsystems and system engineering
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt quickly to change, and demonstrate initiative under pressure
  • Experience in developing, leading, and working on multi-disciplinary engineering teams
  • Demonstrated experience in concurrent engineering tools, processes, and methodologies
  • Infrequent domestic travel [
  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
How You Can Stand Out It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
  • Advanced degree in related field
  • Proficiency in commercial simulation tools/programming languages, including one or more of: MATLAB, Python, Simulink, STK, C, SolidWorks
  • Strong, demonstrated personal initiative
  • Current or active TS/SSBI

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
