JUNIOR CREW CHIEF

Reports To:

The junior crew chief will report to the senior crew chief and the company’s upper management.

Job Overview:

The junior crew chief will conduct land surveying field work in accordance with the SOP’s and following the company’s missions and values. The junior crew chief shall develop proficiency in this role and is encouraged to develop goals/plans for career advancement.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Promptly arrive at field locations prepared for the project at hand.

2. Work with project manager to understand and complete project scope, budget and schedule.

3. Manage crew toward the completion of the project.

4. Follow SOP’s for efficient and accurate workflow.

5. Perform Construction Staking.

6. Perform Topographic Surveys.

7. Perform Oil & Gas surveying.

8. Perform Boundary Surveys.

9. Perform As-built Surveys.

10. Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and ready for use.

11. Ensure safe working conditions for crew members and make decisions related to job safety.

12. Prepare Jobsite Hazard Analysis for each project.

13. Maintain records and prepare reports.

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma.

2. 2+ years of survey crew member/instrument operator experience.

3. Strong math skills.

4. Ability to obtain current safety training (Safeland, H2S, CPR, First Aid).

5. Ability to pass drug/alcohol tests and background checks.

6. Clean driving record.

7. Experience in construction, engineering or oil & gas is preferred.

8. Proficient with the use of Trimble data collectors, Trimble GPS, Trimble robotic total stations and Trimble

Business Center.

9. Ability to learn and apply principles and practices of land surveying.

10. Ability to understand and decipher horizontal/vertical datums and coordinate systems.

11. Ability to understand and decipher construction plans.

12. Ability to carry out written and oral instructions.

13. Ability to communicate effectively.

14. Ability to work 10-12hr days in remote or rural areas.

15. Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.

16. Ability to walk long distances or stand for long periods.

17. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

18. Strong attention to detail.

19. Team oriented.

20. Client focused.
