Head Mechanic (Kahului)

Work in Central Maui! Supervisory position available.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the repair and maintenance of all golf course grounds maintenance equipment and golf cart fleet. Supervises work performed by assistant/light mechanic. Manages and performs parts and supplies purchasing within budget constraints. Provides training to employees for proper equipment operation. Provides safety training for all shop and grounds maintenance equipment. Keeps records on equipment maintenance and repairs. Works under direct supervision of superintendent.

DUTIES

1. Supervises work performed by assistant mechanic.

2. Diagnoses, troubleshoots and repairs all grounds maintenance equipment and golf cart fleet.

3. Performs and sets up program for regular maintenance of all grounds maintenance equipment and golf cart fleet.

4. Trains staff in proper procedure for safely operating equipment.

5. Records performance of equipment maintenance and repair.

6. Orders parts and supplies necessary for equipment maintenance and repair.

7. Oversees inventory control of all equipment parts and supplies.

8. Checks gas and diesel levels once a week.

9. Opens and closes mechanic shop daily.

10. Advises and makes recommendations to superintendent in regards to equipment condition, operation, repair and maintenance.

11. Prepares monthly reports of equipment maintenance schedule and status of downed equipment

WORKING CONDITIONS

Performs work in the shop and out in the field in all types of weather and lighting conditions. Must be able to

lift fifty (50) pounds.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Able to comply with company safety policies and procedures. A minimum of three (3) years of directly related duties in a comparable position with a similar organization preferred. Proficient knowledge in the use of tools, methods and equipment to repair and maintain all equipment and vehicles used on a golf course. Must have a valid drivers license. Good physical and mental health condition, who with or without reasonable accommodation, can perform the essential functions of the job.
