Design facility and mission critical projects for U.S. Government Agency/Department clients (LV/MV). Requires US Citizen and ability to obtain US security clearance.

Directly contribute toglobal projects and missions, including Domestic (US based), Pacific and European locations.

Develop electrical drawing deliverables including lighting design, grounding and lighting protection, electrical studies and analysis, single line diagrams, schematics, interconnection diagrams and equipment layouts

This is a hybrid opportunity with expected requirements of three days in office per week. Candidates located near anymay be considered.Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering Standards:

Continues to learn and remains current on departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Black and Veatch policies and procedures

Applies to assigned tasks as appropriate

Quality/Continuous Improvement:

Continues developing knowledge and complies with Black and Veatch quality program relative to assigned tasks

Supports continuous improvement and change management efforts

Engineering Production:

Prepares and verifies less complex engineering deliverables

Performs research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection

Collects, assimilates, and manages data for engineering work

Prepares engineering calculations following standard methods and principles

Understands and adheres to budget, schedule, and quality requirements

Project Coordination:

Seeks out supervisor or project leadership to share information and gain guidance with respect to details of design and interdisciplinary coordination

Coordinates with others as assigned by supervisor or project leadership

Client Focus:

Focuses on the needs of internal clients (project team leadership) while attempting to gain basic understanding of external client's main interests and drivers

May provide support to business development or pursuit activities

Knowledge Sharing, Innovation and Technology:

Shares current knowledge of latest technology and processes

Management ResponsibilitiesMinimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.

Minimum of 1 year related work experience.

All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Preferred QualificationsTechnical expertise to include NEC, IEEE, UFC, and UFGS knowledge for producing electrical designs, understanding codes, and providing coordination for the unfractured and equipment of buildings and facilities.Technical expertise to include the following:

Low/medium voltage and power generation.

Electrical studies and analysis.

Lighting Design.

Grounding and lightning protection.

Design-bid-build and Design-Build contract types

Other qualifications include:

Experience working for an entity of the Federal government; familiarity with the applicable unified facilities guide specifications and criteria, ability to use SpecsIntact or Dr. Checks.

EIT/FE Certification, or in pursuit of FE/PE.

Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with a power emphasis or demonstrated experience in power system design.
