Job SummaryThe Lead Trainer is responsible for supporting the Training Center Manager in managing the training team to positively affect the safety and productivity of newly hired drivers, route managers, technicians and fleet managers. The Lead Trainer will continue to serve in a delivery role but will spend a portion of their time in supporting manager by performing additional duties associated with supporting, training, and coaching others within the team.II. Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other ancillary duties may be assigned. Supports the Training Manager with the management of the training team to ensure quality execution of training delivery. Collaborates with leadership to ensure consistent execution of delivery standards defined within the Centers of Expertise. Observes, coaches, and provides feedback using coaching techniques and models to WMTC trainers to further develop their capabilities. Provides direction and feedback to team members on the verbal and/or written recommendations they communicate to the field related to performance observations and interventions. Participates in the recruitment and selection process for prospective WM Trainers with leadership. Oversees the onboarding process for new trainers, performs new hire training and conducts a readiness assessment. Creates a safe and inclusive learning environment of respect and rapport to ensure a positive learning experience for training teams. Assists the Training Manager with performance evaluations, professional development, and potential succession/advancements ensuring consistent criteria and practices are followed. Delivers training as needed to new and existing WM team members to ensure the business requirements are met. Assists the Training Manager with the scheduling of training programs and trainer assignments.III. Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThe highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is the management of supervisory employees. This includes: Indirect supervision of approximately 10 – 20 full-time employeesIV. QualificationsThe requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.A. Education and ExperienceEducation : Bachelor’s Degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience in training adult learners.Experience : Five (5) years of experience delivering training to adult learners in a variety of learning methods preferred with at least two (2) years of supervisory experience either as a supervisor or in a delegated team lead role (in addition to education requirement).B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements CDL - Class B without Airbrake restriction or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire CDL 3 rd Party Examiner Preferred – May be required to obtainV.
