Job Description:This is a challenging opportunity for a tech savvy associate to play a pivotal role in solving complex business challenges using technology in the investment banking domain.The Purpose of This RoleThe FFIO (Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations) Technology teams manage applications that provide accounting and investment management support to Fidelity businesses and mutual fund shareholders. One of the middle office product teams within FFIO business unit requires a full stack Java developer to design, develop and enhance functionalities in an existing web-based product. Associate will be responsible for delivering quality technology solutions by collaborating with architects, technologists, and business partners.The Value You Deliver

  • Drive technical discussions, arbitrate, and recommend optimal path forward
  • Provide technical leadership and coach junior team members
  • Use your experience and knowledge to influence better software design, promote proper software engineering and bug prevention strategies, testability, and security
  • Actively participate in the development process through writing and maintain application features and automated tests including unit tests, component tests, integration tests, functional tests,
  • Creation and Maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Collaborate with team members on improving team's test coverage, release velocity and production health
  • Contribute to own entire features from concept to deployment working on cross-functional activities
  • Contribute ideas to improve our products as well as develop your skills, learn new technologies and languages, and continue to learn
The Skills that are Key to this role
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related subject.
  • 5+ years of experience in information technology.
  • Financial services experience preferred.
  • Experience of a project lifecycle methodology (preferably SAFE Agile)
Technical
  • Responsible for developing highly scalable distributed applications built on SOA/Event driven architecture
  • Experience with Micro Services/APIs/REST etc.) and software quality (Test tools like SOAPUI/SOAtest/Selenium etc.).
  • Full stack development experience with Java, Angular, RESTful services, Kafka/Active MQ, Angular/React, Activiti BPM, PLSQL, Oracle
  • Experience improving site reliability by improving code observability, resiliency, and stability
  • Cloud exposure, AWS - lambda, step functions, SNS, SQS
  • AWS Certification and experience in API development & Cloud programming
  • Devops experience in jenkins, git, bitbucket, etc.
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum) and cross-functional teams (Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Developers, Engineers, Designers, Business Analysts)
  • Ideally familiar with Design Thinking, Behavior and Test-Driven Development
  • Strong programming skills with digital mindset, and fluent across technology components including API Services development and consumption using modern frameworks and open-source technologies.
  • The ability to code in more than one programming language and experience with architectural patterns of large, high-scale applications. We believe in applying the right technology depending on the challenge and are always exploring new technologies to continually provide value to our customers.
  • Apply state-of-the-art tools and methods to enable efficiency, performance and agility through automating DevOps processes, continuous integration, and delivery pipelines.
  • Deep understanding of building secure software using modern security principles.
  • Ability to blend development with testing by participating in quality efforts. We consider software quality is ensured through prevention rather than detection.
  • Test Automation validation using Selenium / other frameworks

You will be playing a key role in ensuring that the Cash & Positions teams business goals are addressed in a timely and accurate manner. Specifically, the primary function will be to aid in the enrichment, validation, and delivery of the high value trades to the custodians, accounting and other downstream partners.
