Organization and Job IDJob ID: 311243Directorate: Energy and EnvironmentDivision: Energy Processes and MaterialsGroup: Battery Materials and SystemsJob DescriptionWe are seeking an outstanding Ph.D. intern to join our Battery Materials and Systems group to explore new materials and new processes for energy conversion and storage. This includes catalyst/electrode materials synthesis, characterization, fundamental understanding, and their testing/application in electrochemical energy devices (e.g., fuel cells, electrolyzers, batteries). The successful candidate will have a background on electrochemistry and materials. The candidate will have an opportunity to collaborate with a multidiscipline team of scientists, postdoc. and students. The candidate will also prepare manuscripts for publication, present the research work internally and externally at national/international conferences, and develop new ideas for the funded research.Minimum QualificationsCandidates must be currently enrolled/matriculated in a PhD program at an accredited college. Minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.Preferred QualificationsThe candidate must be a Ph.D. student in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or other related fields in an accredited college or university and have experience in one or more of the following areas: electrochemistry, electrocatalysis, materials synthesis for fuel cells and/or battery applications. Prior experience, extensive knowledge and hands-on skills in electrochemical testing, electrode fabrication and assembly are preferred.Demonstrated record of publishing in scientific journals and an ability to collaborate effectively on a teaming environment are required.
