The Sous Chef is responsible for the supervision of all hourly employees and to hold staff accountable to company policies and standards. This is a working supervisor position that works side by side with the culinary team at Willy Ts. The Sous Chef will be instrumental in working with the Executive Chef on menu development for the restaurant and banquet facility. The atmosphere is a positive working environment always guiding and coaching the culinary team. Must have knowledge of all cooking stations and to be able to hold cooks accountable to menu specifications. There are a lot of options for specials and creating new menu items. We are a scratch kitchen that also specializes in smoking proteins. We also use local bakery, and creamery for our cheeses. Our concept is to use local whenever possible. This position will assist with inventory, ordering, food management systems, FIFO/HACCP methods.

Qualifications/Responsibilities/Experience

A working knowledge of cooking basics is required

Ability and knowledge to cook from scratch

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Ability to work as a team and to come along side and lead

Ability to pass a background check

Manage day-to-day operations of the kitchen.

Hire and train new kitchen staff as well as prepare and present staff performance reviews.

Ensure food quality and hygiene and manage IHG covid policies

Prepare weekly special food menu items.

Ensure quality and consistency of all food and plates leaving kitchen.

Monitor and regulate food inventory, including ordering and receiving food menu

Must be trustworthy, detailed orientated and have integrity

Must show compassion for people by providing superior customer service.

Must have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in a bar / Restaurant/banquet environment.

Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs and stand or extended periods of time.
