Req Number 88306Job DescriptionJob DescriptionManages, plans, organizes, and evaluates the staff and activities for the procurement and distribution of clinical and non clinical materials, supplies, equipment, and instruments.Job Responsibility

Provides leadership to Distribution Operations team members and supervisors by communicating and guiding toward achieving department objectives.

Develops, communicates, and builds consensus for goals in alignment with the health system.

Manages the activities for the procurement and distribution of clinical and non clinical materials, supplies, equipment, and instruments for all operational areas.

Develops and maintains productive working relationships with the health systems Materials Management, vendors, staff, and administration to support efficient materials operations; addresses and resolves materials operations issues.

Develops, implements, and evaluates policies and procedures for maintaining the quality, security and adequate flow of materials.

Maintains a record keeping the health system to track purchasing, receiving, distribution, maintenance, inventory, and cost of all materials, supplies and equipment; establishes and maintains par levels of materials; prepares inventory and cost reports, as necessary.

Ensures oxygen, nitrogen, and nitrous gases are maintained at appropriate levels; researches information for cost benchmarking to identify cost reduction opportunities.

Identifies instruments and equipment in need of repair or replacement and manages process with manufacturers; ensures appropriate orders are placed for replacement and/or returns and arranges for loaners, when necessary; maintains records of incoming consignment and loaner inventories.

Ensures materials stored according to manufacturer requirements and in compliance with safety and fire regulations.

Promotes department compliance with policies and procedures regarding electrical safety, hazard identification, waste disposal and standard precautions; actively participates in unit based quality assurance program and supports unit based Performance Improvement activities.

Supervises, hires, trains, disciplines, and evaluates the performance of staff; ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner; assists with interviews, makes recommendations regarding hiring, disciplining, and termination of staff.

Job Qualification

Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

6-8 years of relevant experience and 2-5 years of leadership / management experience, required.
