Job Description

The SRE team at FireEye is responsible for designing highly reliable infrastructure and processes that host FireEye’s cyber-security cloud products. We build reliability into our proceses to ensure a better customer experience, and ultimately ensure customers vital assets stay protected using FireEye’s cloud products.

As an SRE engineer, you have a mindset to maximize system availability through both proactive and reactive means: you build robust automation to eliminate or minimize incidents, as well as investigate and resolve issues in response to live incidents. You are comfortable working with software engineering teams and supporting their demanding needs. You are a problem solver who enjoys grappling with difficult technical challenges and who strives to automate repetitive work.

What You Will Do:

  • Build and improve systems, tools and processes to ensure high availability and performance of FireEye’s cloud products
  • Automate manual, repetitive processes and define infrastructure as code
  • Collobarate with and support development and test teams throughout the development lifecycle
  • Design tools that can be used both within the team and by external teams to provide self-service
  • Respond to production issues and incidents and perform root cause analysis

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of work experience
  • Demonstrated experience using Bash and programming languages to automate operational tasks
  • Experience supporting production SaaS applications and responding to production incidents, escalations, and alerts
  • Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, RDS/Aurora, S3, etc), Kubernetes
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (i.e. Jenkins, Team City, Drone, etc) and implementing CI/CD processes
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible or Salt (or Chef, Puppet, etc)
