Frequently perform/provide patient care duties, comfort measures and general hygiene as delegated by the RN/LPN.

Continuously interact with patients/significant others as a member of the health care team.

Frequently collect equipment for patient care use.

Frequently record information in the patient medical record and reports appropriately to supervising RN/LPN.

Frequently prepare/disassemble patient rooms for admission and discharge.

Occasionally perform unit secretary functions.

Perform other related work as required.

Education:Must have current documentation as Nursing Assistant Certified or NAR in the State of Washington.

Level a Health Care Assistant license in the State of Washington is preferred. Must maintain current BCLS certification.

High School education or equivalent

Ability to read, write and converse in the English language; and adequate physical ability, including sufficient manual dexterity to perform the requisite health care services.

Must complete medical terminology training within 3 months of hire

Experience:Approximately six months on the job training to become proficient in all the position’s duties and responsibilities. Preference will be given to those having patient care experience.

Knowledge of medical terminology, verbal and written communication skills, computer, and typing skills are beneficial.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Interact effectively with other people.

Ability to complete tasks as assigned in a timely manner.

Ability to take direction from the RN/LPN/Medical Staff and seek assistance appropriately.

Knowledgeable regarding body mechanics and lifting techniques.

Knowledgeable regarding immobilization techniques.

Knowledgeable of procedure set-ups.

Knowledgeable of urine specimen collection procedures.

Demonstrate excellent communication skills.

Ability to identify serial responsibilities/tasks.

Ability to perform under high volumes of stress.
