We are looking for a Python Engineer to join one of the Nation's best University located here in Chicago to join on a Hybrid Basis. This role will be within their Data Science department to develop software to support the University's research. You will collaborate with the Engineering Team and interdisciplinary research groups across the University to produce robust and scalable systems. Additionally, the role involves supporting the AI and Science Postdoctoral Program, with a preference for candidates who have an interest and understanding of machine learning and artificial intelligence Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum requirements include a college or university Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 3 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
  • Experience with Linux, ROS, and Python.
  • Understanding of software development practices, including git-based version control and CI/CD.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Experience in one or more of the followingcomputer vision, optimization, time-series forecasting, natural language understanding, data mining, and/or visualization; research experience developing and testing machine learning models; familiarity with one or more cloud platforms; and experience with virtualization and containerization.
  • Experience with academic research.
  • Experience in applied machine learning.
  • Experience with scientific computing.
  • Past work with faculty and or students in higher education.
