Part Time Grant Accountant

DescriptionAccountemps is looking for a Staff Accountant for a short-term temporary role. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. You will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. It's a thriving environment where effort is rewarded.What you get to do every dayMaintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules

Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision

Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting

Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments

Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed

Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner

RequirementsBA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Recent and relevant accounting experience

Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

Solid understanding of Sage Intacct

Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

Excellent attention to detail

Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes

Experience with ERP systems

Competent with spreadsheets and databases

Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
