Description We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant specializing in Financial Reporting to join our team at a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT). As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with REIT regulations and accounting standards.Responsibilities:

Prepare and analyze quarterly and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and REIT-specific regulations.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the finance, legal, and asset management teams, to gather relevant financial information for reporting purposes.

Assist in the preparation and filing of SEC reports, such as Form 10-Q and Form 10-K, ensuring adherence to reporting deadlines and regulatory requirements.

Perform financial analysis, variance analysis, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and consistency of reported financial results.

Monitor and interpret accounting pronouncements and regulatory changes and assess their impact on the financial reporting process.

Assist in coordinating external audits, responding to audit inquiries, and addressing any identified accounting issues or recommendations.

Participate in the implementation and enhancement of financial systems, including general ledger and reporting tools, to streamline and improve the financial reporting process.

Support the preparation of financial schedules and disclosures for investor presentations, board meetings, and other relevant communications.

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, ensuring their professional growth and development.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA qualification is strongly preferred.

Two plus years of public accountant experience or direct industry experience in a reporting function.

Strong knowledge of GAAP and REIT-specific accounting principles, regulations, and reporting requirements.

Proficient in financial analysis, financial statement preparation, and consolidation.

Experience with SEC reporting (e.g., Form 10-Q, Form 10-K) and familiarity with XBRL tagging.

Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to identify and resolve accounting issues.

Proficiency in using financial reporting and analysis tools, as well as advanced Excel skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
