Job Description It is critical that our Company properly implements, within the global user community, the technology it invests in. Regional Systems Team Lead has a critical role of ensuring global consistency in the implementation of integrated process & technology and providing oversight, guidance and support to the Regional Systems Leads assigned to each region and ensure they have deep process and technical knowledge to support the regional users with the adoption of technology. Under the guidance of Head, Business Enablement (BE) and in collaboration with regional leadership, the Regional Systems Team Lead will ensure the consistent, high quality, implementation of processes linked to technology. CORE Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Accountable to represent the business needs of the RBSL Team and Country Operations users on priority technology initiatives and collaborating with regional representatives and Senior management.

Responsible for the direct line management of Sr. Regional Systems Leads and Regional Systems Leads.

Manage and provide for the proper allocation of resources in budget and staff to maintain effective system support.

Set/define priorities for the team, conduct performance appraisal and review of all direct reports in accordance with our Compan policies and timelines.

Coach, mentor, and hire team members as needed, to ensure optimal support and oversight of the regions’ clinical systems users.

Ensure that team members execute their roles, with a focus on supporting users with new system enhancements related communications & training, responding to many questions from users in a timely manner, identifying gaps in systems, tools and report and work with our Research & Development Division-IT, Business System Owners, Process Owners and other stakeholders to identify new solutions or improvements to existing solutions.

Continually assess type of support, training and communications being provided by Sr. RBSLs / RBSLs, find more efficient and innovative ways to improve this support and streamline and eliminate non-value-added support, training and communications.

Responsible for providing oversight to “out-tasking” vendor personnel responsible for tasks related to clinical systems such as CTMS by:

Working with PSRM and procurement to identify vendor and secure funding.

Collaborate with selected vendor personnel and process owner by having regular meetings, initial and refresher trainings as needed and providing issue resolution support

Ensuring vendor new hires have the necessary material to complete their tasks (eg: our Company accounts, and access to our Company tools) and complete our Company's required training.

Monitoring vendor performance through regular analysis and root cause in collaboration with Process Owners, ROSLs and RBSLs.

For the electronic Investigator Site File (eISF) and Remote Monitoring initiatives:

Serve as a primary point of contact for internal business users, external sponsor companies, and the vendor for the application

Provide system issue communication and resolution oversight in partnership with help desks. Highest level point of contact for user issues.

Send System improvement communications and provide training for users

Generate system usage and performance metrics

Lead cross-functional meetings with global team of subject matter experts

Monitor support metrics and performance of the system on routine basis to assess needs for improvements (added resources or technology improvements). Work with business to ensure optimized use of product features.

Ensure Regional Systems Leads (e.g. SIP, AIM) are trained and supported in their regions’ and countries’ by RSLs. Collaborate with systems’ Core Teams to support regional adoption and change management.

Partner with process owners and our Research & Development Division IT to optimize regional operations

Convey technology needs/priorities from regional stakeholders to Head of BE & our Research & Development Division-IT Client Services Leads.

Provide business/technical consultation to user communities to ensure consistent and effective use of the applications.

Support the identification of key performance indicators for business processes and appropriate process measures/metrics to support operations globally.

Together with country management, perform root cause analysis to identify current state process inefficiencies and how technology may enable the process to address these inefficiencies.

Drive innovation and support innovation pilots and ultimate implementation in the region.

OTHER Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

The role will be collaborating with regional reps from our Research & Development Division IT, Regional Research Directors, Quality & Continuous Improvement, Business System Owners from Business Enablement Organization (BEO), Monitoring Excellence (ME), regional our Research & Development Division Information Technology (IT) representatives and Application Management Services. The role will also collaborate with GCD process owners and sub-process owners. The role will also be responsible for working across GCTO regions to ensure consistent implementation of process/enabling technology to meet our Company's critical business requirements (e.g., the assurance of quality and complete data in CTMS)

Education requirements:

BS degree > +10 years' experience; or MS/MBA/JD degree > +8 years' experience; or PhD +5 years' experience in Clinical Research related fields, Computer Science, Computer Information Science or similar.

Experience :

Five to ten years of experience in clinical research/clinical development; business process management/improvement.

Deep knowledge and understanding of Clinical Trial processes as well as quality management and control tools.

Two to five years of people management experience is preferred.

Knowledge of CTMS, Site Monitoring, Study Start up, Data Management, Pharmacovigilance, Essential Document Management, Investigator/Study Coordinator roles/responsibilities, Clinical study reports, global regulatory reporting requirements and global privacy requirements.

Project and Resource management experience

Experience in System Validation and Implementation, systems analysis and systems maintenance /support is preferred.

Fluency with the respective cross-functional interdependencies, roles and enabling tools/technologies.

Able to identify critical input and outputs that drive business processes and dependencies on process (workflow) vs. technology (dataflow).

Exposure to a global environment, with multi-cultural and organizational operating models; appreciation for country requirements/needs vs. US standards.

Skills :

Strategic thinking in the area of application adaptation and ensure our Company leads and not follows in this space.

Requires management and leadership skills, analytical ability, good judgment, ability to multi-task

Customer service orientation and the ability to work effectively with clients, third party vendors, quality and IT management/staffs

Requires experience in training user communities.

Strong verbal & written communication skills

Excellent teamwork and leadership skills, including conflict resolution expertise and discretion.

Ability to proficiently interact with all levels of management and exert influence to achieve results.
