Description There's currently a long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity in the Non-Profit industry at Robert Half for an experienced Senior Accountant with an eye for accuracy and a knack for solving complex problems. Working as a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for account analysis and reconciliations, financial statement preparation and consolidation, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Implement monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP
Organize quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Function with business partners to ensure compliance with procedures and controls, corporate accounting policies, and provide support on special requests
Complete other projects as required
Put together monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Continually improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Prepare reconciliations of Balance Sheet accounts
Create analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks) Requirements - SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus
Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Efficient in ERP systems
A strong track record of communicating, both verbally and in writing, with functional department managers
Highly organized and self-motivated
Minimum 5-7 years of overall general accounting experience
Strong familiarity with budgeting
Contract Modifications experience highly desired
Adeptness in Expenditure
General familiarity with variance analysis
Expertise in Government Grants
Comprehensive knowledge of grant accounting
Foundational knowledge in contracts
Demonstrated knowledge of billing
Substantial knowledge in financial reporting
Skill with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
