Vanderbilt’s Security Engineering and Operations team focuses on threat management, vulnerability management, security monitoring and responds to and contains potential cybersecurity incidents by performing forensics and investigations in coordination with other Vanderbilt functions to limit damage and minimize recovery time and costs. Duties and Responsibilities As a member of the information security organization this role may support the following activities:

Working with our computer Science Research team to aid research activities

Determine administrative and documentation needs during research coordination

Monitoring and reporting on compliance with institutional and functional security policies, as well as the enforcement of those policies across university IT departments;

Implementing changes to policies, standards and procedures;

Maintaining and/or operating security tools and applications;

Qualifications

Some Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related instruction

Currently enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or certificate program

Position Details:

Maximum 30 hours/week

8 weeks
