Lead Software Engineer, Appliance

Job Description

• Lead development of new features for the Mezzanine application and appliance
• Lead maintenance and improvement of existing Mezzanine application code
• Lead efforts to match necessary hardware and software updates
• Maintain our configurations, code and patches across the linux stack (Kernel drivers, libraries, plymouth, etc)
• Work with the build team to manage build and test infrastructure
• Work with sales personnel to evaluate new feature requests
• Work with customers to troubleshoot and fix issues detected in installed appliances
• Lead development of integration of Mezzanine into other products
• Create and enhance system and release documentation

Qualifications

• Fluent in C and comfortable with the C ecosystem
• Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent industry experience in large software projects
• Experience working on very large software systems
• Experience with Linux as a building and deployment platform
• Comfortable working with a variety of languages and platforms, or collaborating with other engineers to accomplish tasks with those tools.
• Experience supporting build, QA, and QC teams
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to work collaboratively and constructively as part of a team
• Experience supporting delivered appliances

• Experience with C, Ruby, Python, shell scripting, git, and JavaScript/Typescript
• Experience working at a Kernel and driver level
• Experience with media programming, OpenGL, graphics programming, video capture, and display technologies (CEC, EDID, etc)
