As the Director of Data and Analytics at KIPP North Carolina, you will be responsible for establishing and implementing the strategic vision for how data is collected, managed, and leveraged across our organization's entities, schools, and teams. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, and working closely with the Academic Team’s Director of Data and Assessment, regional support team, and school leaders, you will build and lead a team to help execute this vision. Your primary focus will be on developing a robust data infrastructure that enables KIPP NC to harness the full potential of its data. You will work to ensure that all of our student information systems (SIS) are integrated and aligned with best practices in SIS management, while also establishing a strong data governance framework that ensures data security and usability. You will collaborate with our Information Technology and Director of Data and Assessment to create consistent data management practices and identify technical skills and training needs across the organization. As a key leader in our organization, you will work with stakeholders at all levels to ensure data is collected and maintained efficiently, accurately, and securely. You will also play a critical role in advancing a data-driven culture at KIPP NC, working with other teams to move beyond compliance and retroactive analysis to a more proactive and predictive vision for both internal and external facing data. Overall, this is a unique opportunity for a highly skilled and visionary data strategist to lead the charge on creating a world-class data infrastructure and driving positive outcomes for our students and staff.

 Job ResponsibilitiesStudent Information System Strategy and ManagementDevelop a strategic vision for the long-term direction and use of our Student Information System (SIS) ecosystemLead the organization in getting maximum value from PowerSchool software and informationDocument the practices, protocols, and systems developed for the SIS in order to ensure consistent and accurate practices going forward.Serve as point of contact and system owner for all KIPP NC PowerSchool instancesAlongside the Regional Directors of School Operations, ensure consistency of PowerSchool usage across schools; assist in productivity, efficiency, and quality of state reports created and submitted through PowerSchoolCreate and implement a professional development plan for the continual development of school operations staff expertise on PowerSchool

 Team LeadershipRecruit, manage, and develop a team of two analysts to support data analysis and reporting efforts across KIPP NCEstablish team goals and KPIs aligned with KIPP NC's strategic objectivesEnsure effective communication and collaboration within the team and with cross-functional stakeholdersDevelop and maintain team resources, such as training materials and best practices guidelines, to ensure consistent and high-quality work across the team Data Analysis, Reporting, and InsightsMove regional data analysis beyond compliance and descriptive analytics, and towards diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics. Develop tools to monitor region-wide data for completeness and accuracy, and work with appropriate teams to correct errorsReport on insights and identify key metrics for each team to advance the mission, vision, and values of KIPP NCCreate and maintain reports and dashboards to track ongoing non-academic processes, including Talent, People Operations, and Operations processes Regional Data Alignment and PlanningCollaborate with stakeholders across various teams to establish standardized data collection methodologies, measurement techniques, and data definitions. Work to ensure that data is consistently accurate, reliable, and alignedReview and provide recommendations regarding proper controls and procedures to ensure the integrity of datasets across teamsIdentify opportunities for continuous system and process improvements, and lead the development of supporting processesConsult on internal employee and stakeholder research (surveys, focus groups, etc.) to ensure the development, collection, and usability of dataCreate and manage a cohesive data governance structure for all functional areas
