Job Description

Graham Packaging Company is looking for experienced Industrial Maintenance Technicians based at ourYork, PA plant located at 500 Windsor Street.

$2500 SIGN-ON BONUS

Startingpayfor this positionis $26.42per hour which includesa $0.50 shift differential for Night Shift.

  • 7:00 pm - 7:00 am on a rotating 2/2/3 schedule

Job Description:

  • Responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of systems using electrical, mechanical and processing skills
  • Assist and train the Technical Specialists in performing equipment repair and maintenance
  • Fabricate parts when necessary for in-line and process improvements
  • Perform all duties necessary to achieve the continued improvement of the production line and all related processing
  • Assist with the training program as required
  • Communicate effectively to all levels of operations staff regarding operations (MOEE, downtime, shift pass down, trending issues, requests)
  • Coordinate cross shift communication, planning, and follow up
  • Assist in developing standard work procedures
  • Assist with implementation of continuous improvement teams
  • Safety and housekeeping auditing
  • Troubleshoot the blow molding process to improve efficiency in producing a quality product

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Two year Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field is preferred.
  • 2 - 5 years’ experience as an Industrial Maintenance technician preferred
  • Time management, scheduling, and prioritization skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to motivate others to meet demands established by the schedule
  • Knowledge and ability to assemble, troubleshoot and rebuild Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Mechanical Systems and their related components
  • Proven knowledge and demonstrated ability in the following areas:
  • Welding
  • Fabrication
  • Blow molding technology
  • Downstream packaging equipment
  • Measurement, interpretation and application of Quality Systems as related to the Blow Molding process
  • Working knowledge of three phase electrical controls and components
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics
  • Ability to effectively train other employees in technical skill areas
  • Fork lift certification
  • High lift certification
  • Must pass written and hands-on testing regarding NFPA 70E arc flash requirements
  • Must possess solid leadership qualities, including team building with excellent oral & written communications skills.
  • High mechanical aptitude - understanding of mechanical principles, tool usage and safety procedures.
  • High electrical aptitude - understanding of electrical principles, tool usage and safety procedures.
  • Ability to initiate corrective/preventive and continuous improvement opportunities and actively participate in developing, implementing, and verifying corrective/improvement actions.
