Safe Space for Schooling Program Supervisor

Program Summary

Resurrection Lutheran Church Safe Space for Schooling Program (RLC SSS Program) is a no-charge (funded under an Alaska State CARES Grant) drop-in program for students (1st grade to 12th grade) who need school space with:

Internet access and printers tutors and tech help

breakfast and lunch clean and safe environment

Students will bring:

no symptoms of COVID-19 a mask

laptop and headset ability to take care of self

The RLC SSS Program operates:

Monday, October 12, 2020 through Friday, December 18, 2020 (end of term)

Closed: Alaska Day (10/19), Veteran’s Day (11/11), Thanksgiving (11/26-27)

Monday 7:30 to 11:00 Tuesday 7:30 to 3:30

Wednesday closed

Thursday 7:30 to 3:30 Friday 7:30 to 3:30

Primary Responsibilities

Manage RLC SSS Program staff members and assist in hiring / termination.

Pland and direct staff in daily operation the RLC SSS Program.

Follow RLC SSS Program COVID-19 Mitigation Plan (attached).

Direct staff in assisting students with technology usage.

Direct staff in tutoring students.

Direct staff in provide food services to students and assist in menu planning.

Direct staff in following our Student Service Guiding Principles:

Have common courtesy. Seriously.

Be courteous and respectful to Students of all stature and ages.

Go above and beyond to exceed Student expectations.

Provide immediate service recovery. Our highest priority is Student satisfaction.

Make it worth the Students’ time to be in the RLC SSS Program.

Seek out Student contact. Be happy – make eye contact and smile!

Greet and welcome every Student. Spread the spirit of hospitality. It’s contagious!

Project a positive image and energy. Exhibit appropriate body language.

Thank every Student.

Develop and nurture our public image and community relationships.

Other tasks and duties, as assigned.

Other Requirements

Minimum GED diploma or equivalent, and experience commensurate with requirements of the position.

Current food handler card (will provided, if needed).

Ability to pass a criminal and sex offender background check.
