Job Description

Summary: Site leader for our 2nd shift operation. Train, coach and mentor leads, maintain and improve Safety and Quality standards, meet and exceed production goals and assist our operation in leading process improvements, cost reductions, and establish high standards of accountability.

· Enforce all Safety policies and procedures and ensure daily safety walks/checks are completed.

· Work with other supervisors, leads, managers, and other departments to ensure a steady work rate for facility.

· Coach the hourly leads to make good calculated business decisions (i.e. should I shut the line down due to equipment, quality, personnel issues, should I reduce manpower based on efficiency/load, interviewing techniques, matching skill sets with appropriate positions on the line, etc…)

· Train the leads to run an efficient operation and identify and sense of urgency to eliminate operational waste. (Triggers to readjust workforce, quality standards/training, where to position themselves, how to effectively train subordinates, ordering and managing WIP, etc…)

· Monitor and report plant KPI’s to Leadership team daily as directed and facilitate activities to achieve all Departmental KPI’s.

· Act as a team leader for continuous improvement and cost reduction projects either generated on your own or as direct by management.

· Ensure leads accurately track exception reporting and conduct complete written pass-downs for their off shift counterparts.

· Work with Production Manager to become familiar with financials and budget management in order to ultimately be able to budget at the line level.

· Coach/train employee’s and lead by example

· Coordinate work activities for the assigned shift to stay on schedule so we can deliver to the customer on time

· Responsible for daily time and attendance reporting.

· Responsible for Housekeeping

· Responsible for compliance with Standard Work

· Has authority for personnel actions and oversees most day to day operations of group. Familiar with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures.

· Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Qualifications

Qualifications Required:

· Manufacturing experience required

· Experience with standard work for operators, leads and supervisors

· Experience with implementation and sustaining a 5S program

· Computer proficiency with MS Office

· Held a leadership role in continuous improvement activities

· 7-10 years experience in supervisory or management role required

· Management of Personnel Resources - Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work. Interviewing, coaching and counseling to identify

the proper resource for the task at hand.

· Must be able to work any shift as assigned
