AREA: Retail Stores JOB DESCRIPTION: Shift Leader REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reports to and works under the direction of the store manager and/or assistant manager. PURPOSE Provide quality customer service in a friendly and efficient manner. Assists the Store Manager in the daily operations of the store. QUALIFICATIONS High School degree or equivalent, plus one to three years of fast food service experience. Ability to speak, read and write English. Good oral and written communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to perform basic math necessary to function within store. Availability to work flexible schedules including nights and weekends and various store locations within the market area. Food Handler Certification (Serve Safe Certified) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Positive daily routine contact with customers and other store employees. Respond to customer requests to purchase beverages and baked goods in an efficient and friendly manner. Handle cash in accordance with company policy, including daily cash reports, bank deposits and other related functions as instructed by the store manager. Maintain and enforce housekeeping, safety and sanitation standards in accordance with company and corporate standards. Oversee and/or perform the restock of supplies and products. Participate in company and corporate training programs and assist in the training of other store employees. Lead by example on techniques of suggestive sell and upsell. Participate in special projects as needed. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed in a retail store environment with light physical demands and normal exposure to everyday risks and discomfort requiring common safety precautions. Work requires a range of physical motions including, but not limited to, reaching, stooping, bending, lifting, crouching to accomplish assigned tasks and provide customer service. Work requires prolonged periods of standing and walking and an ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Beverage brewing and heating equipment, other hot tools and equipment, and knives present a risk of burns and cuts. Many Dunkin' restaurants are owned and operated by an independent franchisee.
