We provide our global teams with the resources needed to achieve individual career goals while helping to take science a step beyond by developing solutions for some of the world’s toughest challenges, like protecting the environment, making sure our food is safe or helping find cures for cancer.Location/Division Specific InformationThis position will be based in Pleasanton, CA.How will you make an impact?The PPI Specialist III will drive the implementation of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Practical Process Improvement (PPI) Business System for the Pleasanton site. In this role, you will work closely with site and business leadership to mature PPI coaching tools to drive a problem-solving and continuous improvement culture. The position partners with Site and Functional teams to facilitate kaizens that improve performance results, and develops PPI capability at various levels through training, qualification and coaching.What will you do?As part of the Practical Process Improvement (PPI) Business System, the individual will work with all levels to drive continuous improvements that enable growth, improve quality and elevate customer and employee experience. This role engages teams to build lean capability and streamline processes.

Coach teams on the Lean Management System (tiered daily management systems, gemba walks, and leader standard work) and other coaching tools to transform the culture.

Provides PPI Business System program support through project traceability, pipeline building and productivity tracking and reporting.

Identify areas of opportunity for improvement/growth and support teams on implementation of these opportunities

Partner with Finance personnel to evaluate project savings estimates, validate reported PPI benefits, and ensure accurate accounting of PPI Productivity.

How will you get here?Education

Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, operations or business

Green Belt certification preferred

Experience

A Strong Lean Practitioner mindset with 2+ years of experience and a ‘hands-on’ track record of leading teams indirectly to achieve results.

Experience in the following tools is preferred:

Value stream mapping, visual management/5S, Kanban, standard work, metric boards, gemba, stand-up meetings, and project funnel development.

Experience in problem-solving applying a formal program/process

Hands-on experience in managing cross functional projects or changes throughout all levels of business

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with and positively influence all levels of the organization

Excellent skills in Microsoft Office suite; Word, Excel, Project, Visio, Outlook and Powerpoint.

Catalyst to drive continuous improvement in both non-operational and operational areas

Self-Starter and independent

Passion and enthusiasm for driving improvement and leading change

Please contact us to request accommodation.Compensation and BenefitsThe salary range estimated for this position based in California is $90,900.00-$136,500.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
