Clinical Nurse, Outpatient - Anesthesia Non-OR
SUMMARYThe primary purpose of the Clinical Nurse position is to positively affect patient outcomes by providing, coordinating, and supporting evidence based direct patient care across the continuum of care. The highest quality of patient care and the appropriate use of resources are achieved in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.Clinical nurse opportunity in Anesthesia Non-OR. The ideal candidate will be a licensed RN with a minimum of two years nursing experience. Prefer candidates with at least five years of RN experience; in outpatient procedural, PACU or Pre-Op. Charge nurse and or team lead experience is a plus. Experience starting IVs, working in an area independently and strong multi-tasking skills is preferred. Must be comfortable communicating with multidisciplinary teams.Shift: hours vary and rotate 6:00-2:30, 7:00-3:30 and 8-5 with the possibility of OTKEY FUNCTIONSNon-OR
Conduct individualized patient assessments in a timely manner
Complete patient intake form to ensure NPO status and readiness for anesthesia
Communicate patient issues and concerns to appropriate providers
Manage competing patient priorities
Manage patient flow in and out of procedural rooms
Place peripheral IVs
Manage and flush CVC lines
Access and de-access PAC
Provide support as needed within scope of nursing practice to anesthesia staff
Assist with patient positioning as needed
Coordinate patient transport to and from procedure area as needed
Telephone Pre-Ops
Conduct individualized patient assessments via telephone and chart review in a timely manner
Document patient assessment findings, interventions, ands patient responses; follow up on patient labs and diagnostic test as needed
Communicate patient issues and concerns to appropriate providers
Manage competing patient priorities
Provide individualized patient/ family teaching
Generate and post list of telephone assessments that need to be completed daily

Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification if working in the following department: ASC Post Anesthesia (600761).
