Employment Type:Full timeShift:Description:POSITION PURPOSEUnder the general direction of Emergency Management leadership, the Emergency Management Coordinator (EMC) supports the day-to-day operations, implementation, and evaluation of the emergency management program for assigned ministry.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in maintaining an integrated emergency management program that aligns with the Joint Commission’s Emergency Management Chapter and complies with Federal, State, Regional and County requirements.
Support the Emergency Management Manager in coordinating and conducting emergency management meetings to encourage a coordinated and collaborative system response. Provide templates and plans and ensure off-site locations comply with emergency management response plans and required annual exercises.
Participate in Environment of Care and facility operations meetings to report on the state of emergency management program and address/respond to related questions/policies.
Contribute to ongoing compliance of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) across all aspects of the emergency management program.
Support the implementation of ongoing education of the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS). Assist with file maintenance of all NIMS certificates.
Assist in the maintenance of regulatory documentation, including Hazard Vulnerability Analyses, 96-Hour Surveys, and other required documentation.
Ensure emergency management notification lists are up-to-date and functional. Conduct periodic reviews and verification of these lists and publish updates. Send out annual reminders to update departments’ lists.
Represent Trinity Health as a member of external task forces, committees and groups as designated.
Collaborate in the development and maintenance of comprehensive emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, incident command structures, role definitions, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Stay updated on the latest trends, best practices, and advancements in emergency management to continuously enhance the program.
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms other duties as assigned.REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
Bachelor's Degree in business, hospital administration, emergency management or related field. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience in business, emergency and/or hospital services, and/or related field required.
Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional (CHEP), Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), or Professional Emergency Manager (PEM) certification preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIESAbility to identify complex problems related to emergency preparedness in the healthcare industry. Review and research relevant information to develop and evaluate options and implement effective solutions. Possess a high degree of organizational skills, including the ability to work with diverse staff at all organizational levels. Capable of leading team efforts and moving from conceptual stage to planning and implementation with minimal guidance and supervision. Proficiency in software skills, including the use of electronic email, business presentation software, word processing, and spreadsheets.
