With proposal season in full swing, DCG Communications (DCG) is seeking motivated, collaborative, and highly organized Senior Communications Specialists (Account Supervisor) to support and oversee the development and execution of strategic communication plans in line with our federal client€™s goals and objectives, providing value-add initiatives and generating new ideas to support outreach to veterans.

The specialist will work closely with the client in executing program operations to meet the established goals and objectives.

Additionally, the specialist may handle public relations, information output, press releases and media requests, social media and / or advertising for a wide variety of organizations.

Location : Currently the entire DCG team is working virtually due to COVID-19. Once it is safe to return, the Project Manager will likely be required to come into the DCG office in Washington, DC, and / or client site for meetings 1-2 days per week.

Position Requirements :

A minimum of six to eight (6-8) years of prior public relations and communications experience to include leading projects and supporting and managing federal programs

Proven to have excellent writing and project management skills, an eagerness to work in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to manage a diverse workload

Ability to lead and direct federal workstreams to include strategic planning, overseeing delivery, client management, directing all communication, managing deliverable schedules, and more

Demonstrates strong writing skills for content generation with the ability to edit materials prepared by others to ensure deliverables are client ready

Strong attention to detail

Open to monthly travel, as required, to conferences for event support and attendance of quarterly client meetings in DC

Experience with strategic process planning anywhere from 6-12 months in advance

Preferred Qualifications :

Proven and extensive experience in a large-scale integrated Health Care System and with substantive programs focused on Veterans health care and outreach

Client RelationsActively responds to all incoming client communications and builds positive relationships with client as a trusted partner and advisor, in compliance with all ethical expectationsEffectively sets expectations of clients

Specialization & LearningDemonstrate expertise in industry best practices and emerging trends related to a chosen specialty and finds ways to apply that knowledge to account work

Analysis & EvaluationEvaluate results against account objectives and client expectations and when needed, makes proactive recommendations about areas for account growth or improvement

TechnologyPossess high-level knowledge of relevant technological resources and communications tools and incorporates them to account work, as budget allows

Leadership & Emotional IntelligenceContribute to account strategy; oversee deliverables; serve as day-to-day client manager;

display team and project leadership skills and provides guidance to junior account team membersSet team / manage expectations in terms of performance, communication, and work standardsEstablish a positive work culture within the account and serves as a trusted voice and approachable person to help team members work through challenges Raise concerns with ability to meet expectationsOffer suggestions and resources to improve team dynamicEngage team members on their attitude towards account;

listen intently and advocate for improvements when necessaryAssist staff in conflict resolution and problem solving, mentor staff

Business AcumenProactively uncover opportunities to create client value in existing or new client accountsDisplay advanced people and project management skills by understanding how budget, ODCs, and hours are allocated to maximize contractUnderstand facets of your team's business development / account management plansBecome proficient in government procurement and business development vernacularProactively identify, implement, and address efficiency, risk management, and value-add activitiesApply sound and informed logic to structure problem solving and recommendationsIdentify and builds relationships w / clients and prospective clientsManage specialized / shared resourcesClearly articulate the value that the DCG project brings to the client's missionWork with Director, VP & CFO to understand and achieve the desired profitability of the contractUndertake activities that provide clients with a return-on-investment (ROI)

Business DevelopmentWork closely with DCG leadership to support contract recompeteSteward of DCG revenue and profitability Help to write contract modifications;

scopes hours based on current contract, budget and client experience; manages partner scopingStay on top of trends / research and brings new ideas to the table that can become €œproducts and offerings€ that DCG can provide to the clientSupport DCG proposal efforts as needed, writing, research, past performance write-ups, etc.
