The District Sales Manager will develop, lead and be accountable for field sales within their assigned geography. The position will direct and deliver on defined targets, while providing tactical direction on commercial issues. The District Sales Manager will be charged with improving the top line performance of Fluke in the assigned geography by coaching and driving success with the territory team members.The District Sales Manager will serve as a member of the Pacific Coast District – WA, OR, CA Sales Field Leadership team and work closely with the Regional Sales Director to support company initiatives and develop and implement strategic direction. We are looking for a candidate who will have the runway to be a successor for Regional Sales Management or other management roles within Fortive.Core Responsibilities:Develop and implement strategic sales plans and forecasts within the assigned territory leveraging Territory Sales Managers, manufacturer’s reps, and other Fluke field sales personnel.

Lead a team of Territory Sales Managers in the US as a subset of the Region and as primary owner of all sales activity in the assigned geography.

Manage relationships with key local and regional distribution leaders and manufacturer’s rep leaders relevant to the Fluke business.

Coordinate and lead programs to drive new product launches to success and broaden market penetration within assigned geography.

Evaluate performance to objectives and work with assigned sales team and Manufacturer’s Reps to ensure proper and effective countermeasures are in place to meet performance objectives.

Manage to KPIs and sales funnel metrics using sales analysis tools and other reports as necessary to meet or exceed performance to monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.

Evangelize effective deployment of Fortive Business System processes throughout the sales organization.

Operational Responsibilities:Partner within Fluke cross functionally with senior leaders, Finance, Legal, Operations, and Marketing to ensure 100% compliance in all aspects of business conducted internally or externally.

Ensure the use of Fortive Business Systems (FBS) and other tools for direct planning, monitoring, problem solving and reporting of results against plans and budgets.

Ensure that the operating objectives and standards of conduct are understood and that all team associates are held accountable.

Strategic Responsibilities:Assess geographical markets to deploy specific growth priorities in assigned district.

With Regional Sales Director, develop a vision and strategic plan for the district sales organization based on past success, current competitive environment, and future market trends.

Advise cross functional teams of local market opportunities and facilitate collaboration.

Contribute to senior management’s knowledge of product and market conditions through the regular submission of field intelligence and sales reports.

People Development Responsibilities: Identify and grow field sales talent.

Define roles and responsibilities, set performance and development goals, motivate and coach team of direct reports, implement training strategies and sales plans that motivate team execution.

Give feedback to all team members on a regular basis and develop talent within the team to ensure effective succession planning and career development.

Experience:Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in a technical field preferred and 5+ years’ experience in relationship management, metrics, technical sales, preferably test and measurement. Experience managing a sales team desired. MBA a plus.

Experience developing and managing distribution channel sales forces, teams, and structures.

Experience with value-selling technical products with proficiency in heavy commercial B2B negotiation.

Proven ability to identify, position, develop, lead and retain talented people who are focused on rapid speed of implementation and flawless execution of strategy and tactics.

Proven ability to develop functional metrics and drive them into the organization so that the team effectively and efficiently understands, adapts, and executes to achieve results.

Experience driving change, integration and results.

Experience in continuous improvement and policy deployment.

Understands business financial analyses.

Strong organizational and planning skills.

Effective listening and collaboration skills.

Ability to develop tactics driving stated corporate and regional strategies.

This person should also be creative, objective and possess a high level of integrity.

Other Qualifications: Frequent travel 60%+ (Road Warrior).
