Job Description

The Strategic Business Lead role is responsible for assisting the development and growth of the overall business. This role is involved in all aspects of business development: legal, seed funding, entrepreneurship, strategy, finance, insurance, NCA, distribution, and governance. This role is integrally involved in the growth of partnerships and strategic relationships to maximise value and business growth. The job entails an existing (or the drive to develop a) deep understanding of the functioning of financial services (Short Term Insurance, Lending, and Life Insurance) and healthcare financing and delivery.

Qualifications

KEY OUTCOMES

Conduct business case analyses and produce a complete business case for any of the following business development opportunities:

· Potential Acquisition

· Divergent Future Opportunity - new opportunities outside of the existing business

· Aligned Business Opportunity - Partnership, Joint Venture, Investments - external impact/ reach

· Internal Business Enhancement

Disseminate an opportunity to get to the point of decision and describe the requirements for execution of the idea (adoption or product development)

Assist in the prioritisation of the opportunity based on the cost, impact, risk, timelines, skills required, urgency and impact on current and future business

Complete a thorough due diligence assessment and evaluate the impact on the different business areas and assess the risk for the business

Develop financial models to evaluate different scenarios and opportunities

Develop business readiness and implementation plans by engaging with all stakeholders to determine optimal execution phases and milestones

Conduct regular, diverse and thorough industry research and case studies to stay informed and up-to-date, as well as analyse trends for new insights

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Numerate, tech savvy, competent at written communication and able to apply themselves to legal considerations

PERSON DETAILS: WORK EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED

Candidates must have less than 5 years post grad experience

PREFERRED

EDUCATION: QUALIFICATIONS: ACCREDITATIONS WITH PROFESSIONAL BODY

REQUIRED

Graduate that have studied one or more of:

Finance

Actuarial Science

Business Science

BSC Computer Science

PREFERRED

It would be a benefit if the individual had covered some entrepreneurial courses and had desire to be part of their own business. The broader their studies the better. Experience does count but only a few years working experience required.

TECHNICAL SKILLS OR KNOWLEDGE

REQUIRED

Familiarity with the latest Open Source Software, cloud, container, query and database technologies as well as query languages

Confirmed experience building data models and ability to work across structured, semi-structured and unstructured data

Experience preparing data for analytics and following a data science workflow

Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills

Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing – in English
