Social Services Specialists - Children's Center

In this position you will :

Demonstrates application of knowledge, skills, and behaviors in the physical, motor / sensory, cognitive, psychosocial, patient and family education areas based on PEMC age specific care competency assessment tool.

Participates as a member of the PIC (Pediatric Interim Care) service team providing services to stabilize placement to drug affected children including mental health and developmental therapy Coordinates programs for families to avoid separation and attachment disruptions.

Performs intervention focusing on infant-child care, parenting education, information and dialogue on addiction, recovery and treatment alternatives

Completes assessment of child’s environment and coordinates services which include housing, life planning, daily living skills and enhancement of self-esteem

Works with foster families and biological families to address issues of separation and bonding

Qualifications :

Required qualifications for this position include :

Bachelor's Degree in Early childhood development, education, special education, psychology, sociology, social work or related field.

Experience in drug and alcohol exposure environment and child-family counseling or developmental disabilities setting.
