Lead Software Engineer (REF28601H) - Visa Digital Developer Platform (DDP)

Job Description

This role will be reporting to Senior Director of Engineering, Visa Payment Digitization Platform, you will be functioning as the overall Digital Commence Platform domain lead and work closely with product partners, architects, SRC partners and Visa internal front-end delivery teams to help create execution design, strategy and roll-out of this game changing new payment experience.

This position will require the candidate to create the SRC UI specifications working along with Architects for multiple Payment partners to consume and code to it. Also, you will be driving the technology adoption of the SRC solution with multiple partners including Wallet Providers, Issuers, Payment Networks and internal Visa Checkout stake holders, providing execution and roll-out support in creating the new payment application.

Essential Functions:

• You will be required to have deep technical knowledge creating highly scalable UI applications that is interoperable seamless with existing apps as well as with 3rd party/partner native & mobile web checkout applications.
• Lead product feature development teams from inception to launch and maintain a parallel roadmap of technology roadmap to ensure that technical stack and hygiene is maintained as the product features are being delivered
• You will be the subject matter expert on the SRC checkout application providing technical, domain, execution and rollout expertise to multitude of complex use cases that involves check out apps discovery, checkout button branding evolution, consumer & card verification, consumer on-boarding during checkout and creating SRC unified experiences for end users.
• Build SPA Web applications and UI components shared across multiple applications on modern web technologies designed to be extremely fast and handle complex requirements that involve exchanging data & experience with multitude of checkout partners supporting multiple devices and operating systems. Web stack and UI components are based of modern web technologies stack using libraries and frameworks including React, Redux, React Router. Mobile first thinking is a must have in every step of the way
• This role requires strong collaboration and the need to work closely with multiple stakeholders in cross-functional organization in an Agile environment. You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and above all, you are a team player
• Design and build applications for performance, scalability, availability, reliability, and security
• Maintain high coding standards and follow best practices such as unit testing, peer reviews and mentor fellow teammates and provide technical subject matter expertise
• You’ll lead the usage of technologies that include Java, REST, NoSQL, Docker and more. You will also lead proof of concepts and other technical evaluations of technologies, designs, and solutions collaborating with engineers in the team
• Ensures inclusion of Visa's business vision, current business environment, internally and externally, and technology and industry trends, to enable results that drive Visa's business.

Qualifications

• 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

• 12-15 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
• 12+ years of Software Development Experience or a Masters with 10+ years of Software Development Experience.
• You have proven experience leading teams that have delivered high quality large scale enterpriseclass applications.
• You are a Java expert and you have experience with REST APIs, JSON and exposure to container based technologies.
• You have strong experience with Agile development incorporating Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery, utilizing technologies such as GIT, Maven, Jenkins, Chef, Sonar, JUnit, and PowerMock.
• Ensure proper metrics instrumentation in software components, to help facilitate real time and remote troubleshooting/performance monitoring.
• Understand and own component security analysis, including code and data flow review. Collaborate with security team to implement and verify secure coding techniques.

• You have proven experience as a technical leader with ability to understand the requirements and independently, architect, design and build the solution.

• As an end-end champion for your products, you will have strong debugging and Unix skills to help support our Operations teams
• A background in the Visa Checkout and Secure Remote Commerce domain is a plus
• Knowledge of functional programming is a plus
• Exposure to leading edge areas such as Containerization, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning will be an added advantage
