Design Engineer

Design Engineer (New Hudson, MI)Our client, a machine shop in the fastening/ tooling business, is currently hiring a Design Engineer that will be responsible for the production of designs and drawings for components and assemblies needed in manufacturing project.This position is a full-time position, Contract to hire.Essential Duties:Produce designs and drawings for mechanical equipment, under the supervision of Project Engineers, in an accurate and timely manner.Perform engineering calculations and analysis as needed for design efforts and projects.Complete documentation packages to support project requirements.Liaise with customers and vendors to ensure full satisfaction of all technical requirements and schedules.Assist in the installation and commissioning of equipment on an as-needed basisWork with Marketing to produce needed engineering support documentation for proposals and customer support materials.Work with Quality and Operations to ensure prompt response to MRB actions when requiredProvide suggestions to the Project Engineers and the Engineering Coordinator for new methods and products and the improvement of current standards; work to develop these ideas into standards.Provide suggestions to the Project Engineers and the Engineering Coordinator for new methods and products and the improvement of current standards; work to develop these ideas into standards.Cooperate with other teams to ensure smooth business operations.Business travel to support the above activities.Any other duties as required.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.Ability to complete with minimal supervision on all the above core tasks and work under the guidance of Project Engineers to improve core competencies.Why Kelly ® ?Your engineering skills are in demand, but how do you find the right fit?
